Beasley's Big Band is a group of musicians dedicated to playing great big band jazz and having fun at the same time.

Founded in 1991, Beasley's Big Band has played many different venues for a variety of audiences, ranging from corporate parties and ballroom dances to intimate club dates and charity functions to concerts in our city parks. This 19 piece band's membership is very diverse. Having an age range of 17 to 83 years, the band includes male and female, African American and white musicians.

Stylizing the vocal numbers is Christine Rosholt. She knows how to get the most out of each word and her phrasing is full of welcome surprises. She is clearly a superior jazz singer who also greatly appreciates lyrics. Fore more information on Christine visit her website: www.christinerosholt.com

Musical Focus: Classic big band jazz, featuring tunes from 1930s-1960s. Stylistically, we try to emulate the Count Basie Orchestra. We also play tunes made famous by Duke Ellington, Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, and Glen Miller.

Number of Songs Available: over 250, special arrangements available on request. Over 75% of our book have been custom arranged for this band by the leader, lead alto sax player Chuck Beasley. New arrangements are rehearsed (and eventually performed) by the band bi-monthly.

Songs we do not play: We do not play polkas and waltzes, nor do we have any "rock" music per say in our book. We have some Latin tunes, but the selection is limited.
